SAE 45º Flare
Identification: Straight threads. Both male and female have 45º seat.
Seal: The seal is made on the 45º flare seat. The threads hold the connection mechanically. Only connect male SAE 45 with female SAE 45.
Application: Commonly used in low-pressure, refrigeration and automotive piping systems and are frequently constructed of brass and connected to copper tubing.
Comments: Use caution when identifying this fitting as the threads are the same as SAE J512 37º (JIC) in the -2, -3, -4, -5, -8 and -10 sizes. The sealing surface angles are different, however.
